the first song sets the album up for something so dynamic and abstractly grandiose.
but the songs thereafter are very linear and too niche specific. the lyrics become too literal, and you are left with an introspective album about personal relationships. I was hoping for something broader and more colorful and abstract, with a subtle hint of social commentary, much like Oracular Spectacular by MGMT
Still a decent listen... it just falls short for me.

They're a great band, I had no clue who they were until I saw them at a music festival in 2013. Listened to them album after album afterwards and have been a huge fan since.
I wish they'd focus less on being in Christmas specials and more on new music though.

Most of the time, it's a mixture of Twin Shadow, Blood Orange, Tame Impala and Toro Y Moi.
Other favorites are Phoenix, The Cure, Tyler, The Creator, Drake and Silversun Pickups.

Didn't really like currents that much. The drums in a lot of the songs didn't feel as good as they were in lonerism or innerspeaker, and most of the melodies felt like I'd already heard them before. It honestly felt very bland to me.

You could HATE the Beatles and find maybe 5-10 songs you like or love by them.
So many of their songs are songs that sound like they could have been recorded in the 90s and the 2000s for how important they are.
I think I'm cursed though, I compare everything to the beatles and nothing seems to hold up against them. Rolling stones are fine I guess, Zepp is bluesy enough it's just a shame they stole a ton of their hits, Beach Boys are UN-FUCKING-LISTENABLE....
