Not having your weapon at the ready when your out and about. Felt weird as as fuck for a couple of weeks. Kept waking up in the middle of the night wondering where the fuck it went. The anxiety was horriffic.
My personal experience: while I was over there I would always wake up in a startled shock. I would be sleeping and the air raid sirens would go off and everyone around me would be in mask running for the nearest bunker. Sometimes it was scud missiles, sometimes it was enemy fighters.
So when I'd wake up it was always in a panic and I had few secs to ask what was going before I was alone because everyone fled. That had a lasting effect and I realized it when I got back and room service gave us a wake up call and I panicked. It's been over 10 years now but even today, when someone slams a trash lid outside my window my eyes pop open and my heart is pounding.

My deployment was on a DDG in the Persian Gulf and the biggest things to get over is the long hours. However on first deployment about 7/300 left for "suicidal thoughts" though for the most part they were just bitch asses that could not handle being away from home. I slept pretty well. Having a nice comfortable bed instead of some pos spring mattress helps. I'm guessing you meant mentally though. When you mean veteran, I'm guessing you mean being a civilian, instead of just coming back and being stateside. Things that felt weird to me is just how damn empty and thrown around "thank you for your service" phrase is. Then you start realizing that people just don't give a shit about those in any uniform. Military, police, firefighters, etc. people take it for granted and don't appreciate they things they have compared to the shithole countries we go over to and do things in. After working with a unit of people and a base full of people working for the same purpose and "good" (relative), after coming back you can see that other people are just straight up assholes and can't cooperate with each other. That's not exactly how supply and demand works...
They'll continue to produce at the largest volume possible, supply and demand will simply effect the price.
So in essence, what will happen with vegans not eating it, is there will be over supply... if these vegans actually changing anything... and the meat will just get cheaper to compensate...
While in a major sense, if a huge market trend was to stop eating meat, then yes, supply would become too high and you crash the market. Raising animals would become too expensive for a small payout due to the over-saturation, and yes the vegans will have made a difference.
The problem is with vegans, is they don't understand that the industry is not directly linked to the demand. Ranchers that are set up and running will not slow down production because of a dip in supply, they'll just take the economic hit and not be able to afford the new model of 4K TV that year.

You're correct in that it isn't purely supply and demand - mass murdering farmers are subsidized through taxes and government programs to keep their dying business going, because of tradition and norms of murdering animals and eating their corpses.
Even with this, now that more and more people are turning away from eating corpses, farmers are closing down en-masse globally, protesting and demanding bigger subsidies.

I never got to serve. Was cucked into the university style indentured servitude by my parents who didn't know any better. But I swear to God I want to kill for a cause.
