It's a manga that's been running for 20+ years now, and it's pretty incredible. One of the things that's most interesting about it, is that the author has basically reinvented himself in his style several times throughout the series, while still keeping it true to its roots. During the first 10 volumes (referred to collectively as the "Golden Age" arc), it's basically gritty 80s style manga of purely dark medieval warfare, becoming borderlined historical fiction. but in volumes 11-12+ literally hell opens up and pours itself onto earth evil dead style but in a completely serious manner. Over the next ~5 volumes you have every bit of bad in his world corrupted and risen to full blown demonic rape-fests; corrupt priests burning everyone at the stake, packs of roving goblins kidnapping women, raping and impregnating them to make more monsters, an evil god-emporer who tries to take over the world etc. It then turns into a traditional swords/sorcery fantasy where Guts assembles a team of rag-tag heroes to destroy the five God Hands of hell, one of whom was his best friend and rival during the Golden Age.

Started on a few more airing shows, watched Bakuon, Re: Zero & Bread Lesbians which were pretty decent. Also watched Hundred but it was just generic garbage with nothing really going for it. Still gotta get started on new Terraformars which I'll do eventually, you? Also pre-ordered new Doom & now I've just gotta wait a month for it to come out.

Super Germany (AKA forming normal Germany but also having the entirety of Austria under your sphere so he (and his Hungary, parts of Poland, Transylvania, northern Italy and half the Balkans) instantly become part of your empire. It's a bit complicated, and by that I mean there's a lot of things you need to do in order to accomplish this, with varying difficulty (the hardest part is actually getting Austria into your sphere since he's a Great Power; so what you have to do is justify+declare war, siege every province he has, kill his armies, and wait a couple of years for him to lose GP status (one year + however much time it takes him to lose GP eligibility) and then after that you have to make adding him to sphere part of the war goal and then you peace him out, then you press the button to form Germany)

When you start the game Germany doesn't exist, you have to form it. Best way to do so is by starting as Prussia since he already has most of the German minors in his sphere of influence and you need six more to form Germany (Saxony, Hannover and Holstein to form the NGF and get rid of all the German bullshit minors, and Bavaria, Baden and Wurttemburg to actually form Germany)
You can play literally any nation that exists, though some are obviously harder than others.

I'm tempted to play the US next, for example (they also get a bunch of events revolving around the Civil War) or Japan (who goes through the Meiji Reformation and stuff; you actually have to Westernize as Japan (and also as many countries in Asia and Africa), though you get two ways to go about it. One is to start immediately and one is to wait until someone puts you in their sphere of influence.)

The game lasts from January 1, 1836 to January 1st, 1935. That's for all nations. As for Japan Westernizing, it will probably take a few in-game years and you annexing Korea and/or Dai Viet (in present-day Vietnam) and also fighting the Chinese.

There really aren't any "set goals", you kind of just do what you want. Germany is highly recommended as a goal to go for, but you don't explicitly HAVE to.
