Oh ya, with practice lucid dreams become longer
It's kinda like training muscles.
If you train regularly (You have few lucid dreams during week) then your lucid dreams become longer.
Lucid dreaming can be quite simple if you take correct approach.
1. Dream Journal, a la writing down your dreams after waking up, if you cant remember anything then dont move after waking up and try to remember anything, when you've got more or less idea of whats going on in dream then get up and write it down
2. Reality Checks, you either reality check whenever you see something out of ordinary, odd, weird or you pick common activity that happens in dreams aswell as in real life. For me it was talking with people, i started reality checking whenever i began conversation with someone. Memory reality checks were most reliable ones for me. e.g. Asking yourself what you were doing 15 minutes ago, what am i doing here? where am i? If your in dream then you will have difficulty answering these things
