My entire life I have felt different. Even when I was in kindergarten I could tell I wasn't liek the other boys in my class.
I felt almost disgusted by my own existence. As if I was manufactured wrong. (If that makes sense?)
It wasn't until college I met a Transgender person. He had just started taking on a permanent role as a female. Sean Became Shauna and seemed so liberated and Shauna's Depression even seemed to go away.
I was so jealous because I didn't feel I had the inner strength to do that. To make the change.
What would my friends say? Family? I know a few people would have stopped talking to me completely.
About a year and half ago I finally made the decision to make the change. To make it official and to not let anyone affect my life anymore.
That is why now I am a Trans-lampstand.
I just stand in the corner with a shade on my head pretty much all day.
I have started to go out in public more as a lamp-stand. I even went to the hardware store and got a light bulb and plug assembly to make the "full switch"
Sometimes I go to Starbucks and just plug in to the corner socket and stand there for a few hours.
Sure people give me strange looks everyone once in a while. But after I explain what being a Trans-Lampstand is all bout they rarely ever bother me again.
My parents were NOT as upset as I thought they would be. My mother said she always thought I was a lamp-stand, or maybe a endtable growing up.
My dad says that it was tough at first but now he thinks I look pretty good in the corner by the grandfather clock and my aunt Velma's urn.
So to all of you nay-sayers out there. Being trans is tough. But once you have accepted who you are ONLY to your OWN self will you ever get past the pain...
