Are any of you familiar with the Inheritance series of books?
I am thinking of a passage describing why there must be a balance between spellcasters and soldiers in an army.
I searched the books for keywords, but came up empty.

Damn, the Inheritance series was my favorite series a few years ago.

It was a big part of my childhood.
It's been years since I've read them, but the memory recently resurfaced.
Magician casts spell, second magician blocks and casts another. First magician blocks, soldier runs up and stabs them both.
Not the quote you're after but from Nakor said something along those lines once.

Fuck yeah, they are a great teenage fantasy series.
>>677435635
Tell me more.

Nakor is from Raymond Feists books. He's a fucking nutcase but a very entertaining character.

I hope you learned something from your mistakes.
>>677436065
What, how fucking great they are?

It need not be a literary masterpiece to be legitimately enjoyed.
Get off your high horse.
It was something like too many soldiers and they can't all be warded, too little soldiers and they can't protect the Spellcasters.
Wow, I certainly remember reading something like that, but not sure which book, or even who was talking. To me it seems almost certain that it was said by either Oromis or Nasuada....

Yes, that is what I remember too.
But I'm looking for the passage.
Do you remember an exact word or phrase?
I already searched for ward and spellcasters.

The only reason those novels ever saw paper was because they were essentially self-published.
>>677436437
Pretty sure it's near the end of Brisingr
>>677438467
Lmao nm. Eldest, not brisingr.
>>677438467
>>677438526
I was thinking it was one of the middle two.
I think I remember it being somewhere around the southern part of the Empire.
>>677438785
Yeah it's around the big battle at the end of Eldest I think, cause they focus on taking out the empire's mages.
Don't recall, but damn, this brings back memories.
>>677435131
How many are those books?
I got to the red book I forget a whole lot of it?
I read all 4 when i was in intermediate to highschool.
Are you describing the part where the enemy army are immune to damage because they're numb?
>>677439525
No, I remember that battle.
This was just a conversation.
>>677439005
Thanks!
I'll look into it.
>>677435936
Nakor the Isalani is the best
>>677439441
