What's /b/'s thoughts on No Mans Sky? Excited for it? or do you think it'll be a big let down, personally i'm excited
I personally really enjoy space games, especially ones like this where you can simply just go around and explore anywhere you want. I will more than likely pre-order it on Steam

excited, but won't pre-order

no multiplayer = whats the point
>Sony
>indie dev
Puck one or the other if not you get h1z1

Just get Elite Dangerous, Its 1000x better
Video games are for babies
Looks interesting, but I'll wait until after release before I buy it

Spotted the nigger.

The entire game is multiplayer, but good luck finding anyone (random spawnpoints)
>>677395232
I doubt youll ever see anyone
>>677394578
Rocket League?
>>677394748
I don't agree with that at all, but of course the game isn't out yet so who knows.
I played ED to curb my hype for NMS because I couldn't wait, but the game was so awful. 99% of the game is playing the shit "stock" system and clicking on places on a map.
Also their purchasing/DLC model is absolutely awful. You basically had to pay for another game in order to get what they initially promised would be in the game, but if you're new and haven't bought it yet, you only have to buy the expansion.
Rewarding new players and punishing vets, sounds like a good model to have.
I'm pretty exited for it, I feel like this is the game I've been waiting my entire life for. My bro is getting it too and our goal is to try and find each other, once and if that's done we'll team up and find the center of the galaxy together.

Good luck man, I wish it was that easy.
With 18 quintillion planets, there's a 0% chance of you finding each other.
>>677397206
This, but it'll be tough finding each other

I honestly doubt Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen will even be able to compare to No Mans Sky but it's hard to say at this point.
Plus I just like the design of NMS better, I've always been a sucker for fantasy sci fi.

Hello games estimates the chances of two players encountering each other at just under 1%
And they don't mean you, they mean two players out of the ENTIRE playerbase.
>>677395360
I looked into it and found out that the goal of the game is to reach the center of the universe which is a choice so you're bound to see people if going the same direction and also the tradeing system stuff isn't just for NPC but other player's I belive
>>677397572
pure autism
>>677397395
Well I'm hoping and pretty sure there will be some sort of star map. At least something that shows trade routes you've established. With that we could see where we are in the galaxy and hopefully just travel in the general direction of each other. But yeah I realize the odds it could easily be a daunting task.
>>677397798
I think those estimates are based on random encounters, I'm sure my chances are better with both individuals actively looking for each other.
>>677398187
,I wish you good luck man, hope you meet up and get to the center together.
>>677398520
good point, although I doubt it would be much higher even with that counted in
>>677396314
I agree that FD made a poor choice with the way Horizon's was handled; however, I disagree with your assessment of what you actually do in game.
ED actually has a lot going on with it.
I understand that everything is generated mathematically but I really hope they add in some easter eggs, it would be awesome if the added our solar system, Alien/Predator worlds, doctor who references that sort of stuff, i'm sold already but that would be the cherry on the cake

>Spore

its a worthy game design concept, but i wouldnt be surprised if their business approach ruins it.
they seem like they are going to end up being another oversized overbudgeted "indie" production that just ends up shitting out a AAA turd.
