Well if you aren't going to go to a doctor at least go get some antibiotic ointment from the store and keep that wound bandaged and covered in antibiotics. Change the bandage at least once a day.
But if it keeps getting worse go to the doctor.
And don't go cheap on the antibiotics. Get one with 2 or 3 types of antibiotics in it if you can.
But I highly recommend just going to the doctor. Don't go to a hospital. Go to an urgent care clinic. It will be significantly cheaper.
