Good evening /b/rothers! My buddy has this 'rash' on the inside of his lower left leg near his ankle. He just noticed it yesterday. It is slightly raised, and there is minor itching. He is going to the doctor first thing Monday, but I was curious to see if any of you medically educated individuals have any idea what this is. Thanks in advance.

Could be ringworm (actually a fungal infection). Or it looks a little like cellulitis, but that's usually pretty painful.

Your response it greatly appreciated.

Welcome, just don't know if it's any use. Are there any other patches anywhere?
>>677358062
No sir. Anything he can do in the mean time as a preventative measure?

Cellulitis its a bacterial infection you get from a open wound or cut

Thank you for your input . He doesn't remember sustaining any injury. Could it have resulted from something as simple as abrasion from wearing high tops? Only thing he can think of.
It's the herps...get some cream and a shot

I'll let him know haha

Its quite possible.. I recommend going to the doctors and getting it checked out

If he can buy a cream called Fucidin H (in the UK, at least) it wouldn't do any harm. Or an antihistamine ointment should relieve the itching.

I've had that before, it's just a simple bacterial infection. I've actually found out a nice easy remedy to those. Believe it or not, if you pour a little bit off ammonia and a little bit of bleach on top of it, it will almost immediately vanish! It gives the most soothing feeling ever while it's happening to. Try this OP and you won't regret it.

It only has to be big enough for bacteria to get in.
Agree with >>677360047, seeing a Dr. is the best idea, but you already said he's going asap, so an anti-histamine is the obvious thing for anything itchy.

Thanks friend. We are over the pond though.
Cellulitis, I don't think so, infeccion neither... Higiene and a steroids will be enough

looks like poison ivy. Just ask for a prendisone taper if it gets worse
>>677361164
It's basically an over the counter fungicide with a little hydrocortisone to speed healing.
>>677361006
Haha I've used bleach to dry up poison ivy before, but I think we will go with a more legit approach.

Had this same rash in the same place in my past. I was diagnosed with mild psoriasis, and that's what it looks like. You'll get steroid cream and that's pretty much it.Good luck

It works a lot better when you add ammonia immediately after applying a generous amount of bleach. You've got to try this.
>>677362031
Just did this. Clear it up immediately! Thanks for your input ;)

You're welcome. I'm always here to help. ;)
