Also I've had pretty annoying tinnitus since my motorbike accident and I'm guessing that it's pressure from that on part of my brain. how accurate would that be. I'm australian and health care shouldn't be an issue but no idea really.. The neuro asked me a few question to check if i was a retard and i said "are you fucking with me" and they let me go.. dunno if you can help.
I drink daily. what i know is it, is drinking.
i used to be able to drink and wake up feeling shitty sure, but half a day, good to go. now i have hangovers lasting 2 to 3 days. i get pressure in my head, which wobbles back and forth randomly. when it gets tights, i get virtigo pretty bad. i feel sick, weak, can't think, my eyes will shoot from one spot to another without registering the move. i also have pretty bad anxiety so these feelings make it kick in, making me feel worse since i think im going to have an aneurysm or something and die. lately i've been getting left arm pains. numbness not so much, only if i have it up in a certain position i can't recall. through the mornings, i always take care to drink tons of water, and even when getting drunk i try to drink one or two cups before bed.
Some insight on what the cause could be would be great. the pressure is usually around the temples or in the very top-front of the head. just a bit forward where the black spot in your pic is.
what would the drinking cause that would do stuff like this? specifically. I understand alcoholism is bad.

Hang in there, anon. It sucks ass initially. I tell my pts to think of it as a marathon, not a sprint. Give yourself a year to really recover. Good luck.
For OP or the other neurosurgeon guy, I lost a shit ton of range of motion in my neck.
Basically if i had my neck in an uncomfortable position it would kinda get stuck and not want to move the other way until like the next day, then eventually it stopped being able to return to its original ROM. My left/right went first, then down, then up.
I was in a car accident where my airbag deployed maybe a year or two before this started and although i didn't seem to have whiplash symptoms afterward, that seems to be the most likely cause.
Have you dealt with things like this?

Yah, ultrasound. I love it even though it's stressful. Not to knock x-ray, mr, nuc med, etc., but I could never be just a button-pusher. I enjoy doing something that's considered highly operator-dependent (to the point that for some studies, some radiologists just dictate off of our worksheet and "impressions" without actually looking at all of the images) even though that isn't really recognized by a lot of people ("Oh, it must be fun looking at babies all day!"). Nigger I don't scan OB 2nd/3rd, I have no desire to deal with the drama of pregnant women, their families, and L&D. I'll take some de-gloved scrotum or gangrenous toes over a 20-week fetal survey every day of the week.
I am pretty fortunate that I went into a good program and work at a fairly high-speed, nationally-ranked hospital. Plus I don't have to deal with rectal contrast. Fuck that shit.
There's nothing we appreciate more than bro-tier doctors, anonsurgeon.

kek, I rarely scan OB 2nd/3rd any more and I had a fairly crappy clinical experience with OB. My full-time job has a separate MFM department, and when I do scan at my registry job it's mostly biophysical profiles, which are not in-depth. I think they're moving towards doing ventricular outflow tracts on a lot of these routine OB ultrasounds (not just for level 2 and high-risk). Which, IMO, is yet another reason I want to stay away from OB.
Best advice I can give you is to get friendly with the MFM sonographers and recognize that you will never, ever scan as well as they do. Even among sonographers (vascular and general), we view our peers who do fetal echo, early MFM, high-risk, etc., as wizards. They totally don't get enough props, both from the ARDMS (which doesn't have a separate high-risk or level 2 registry, it's just the basic OB/GYN) and their employers, they're not compensated as well as vascular people.
If you're scanning pregnant women make sure the machine is calibrated properly for dem bioeffects, and never throw color or doppler on a 1st trimester pregnancy, and limit exposure in the 2nd and 3rd trimester.
The key is volume. Observe. Scan. Observe and scan. Ask questions. Become familiar with the equipment (frequency, gain, TGC, depth, etc). It's a skill, it's not something you can read or watch YT videos and become proficient at, you need practice, and a shitload.

>>676878267
>Can an external lump be a sign of an underlying tumor? Can said tumor lead to rapid onset psychosis?
Not OP, but any "lump" almost has to be by definition a tumor, which is merely an abnormal mass, either solid, fluid-filled, or some combination thereof.
>>676878921
also tumor is not synonymous with "cancer" or "malignancy"
>>676878921
Can this lead to psychosis occurring within the span of a month? No prior symptoms.

>>676878921
External lump is outside the skull. Psychosis caused by tumor would be inside your skull...you wouldn't feel it

>>676880147
I'm not the neurosurgeon, I'm the general surgeon. But it's unlikely, cancers usually metastasize inside the brain, not outside the skull. In fact, I've never heard of it. A lump on a skull is most likely some kind of epidermal or sebaceous cyst. If you're that worried, go get it ultrasounded.
