Can somebody explain what dimensional thinking is? I have a friend from mensa who says they can do it and that other people generally can't.
I've started experimenting with using the more visual side of my mind to solve problems since I heard thats better. But i'm having a really hard time doing it. The control I have over what I want to visualize is really weak. If I manage to get anything visualized and detailed in my mind then the image tends to fade away really fast if I try to focus on it and hold it there. I feel like if I could master this then i would get much better at solving problems.

It's something you really have to work hard on if you don't have it by default.
I have a very big imagination, if someone tells me a story I can directly visualize it, and if I read a book I can visualize everyone and everything in it, it becomes like.. a virtual world in my head.
If you have trouble doing that, you have to practice a lot, for example, by reading some fiction books while being relaxed and alone.

Yes I myself diagnosed with Aspbergers which is why I work where I do. Learning and copying/mimicing social behaviours is how I have lived my entire life. As per the diagnosis I have issues understanding myself and self reflection so I do it through others.

It took me some years, but I know exactly how my mind works now and how other people seem to be working. It's like.. they just go through life and emotions on cruise-control without stopping the car to just look around and see where they are and how they can make the trip more efficient.
I do, however, still have a lot of issues seeing jokes for sarcasm and visa versa.
I just tell everyone I need to work with how my mind works, and most of them adept to it.
I tell them to be straight forward, and smile when they make a joke, and if they see me pondering, just explain me that it was a joke.
I felt uneasy (for the rest) at the start, but that was a lifechanger!

lol this is the most active thread I have ever made.
When I was 9 my IQ was rated at 156 and I was at a college reading level, and was able to able to learn things almost by osmosis, but then I stopped reading and started watching TV for hours and hours on end. My last IQ test put me at 130. I think it's gone down since then as I can feel that my mental acuity has definitely slipped.

I feel like I have gotten a pretty good grasp of myself now that I have been working with more people that have lived with the same conditions as me. It really helped me take a step back and see how it effects others. I can confidently socialize and communicate instead of constantly second and triple guessing everything I do and say.
