I have both, an apple work phone and an android personal phone.
Apple is by far easier to get along with if you want a fleet, MDM is easy. Having a large vendor who can deal with warranty repairs and support instead of going through 3rd parties is great.
Android is better if you want to customise your experience. But honestly I don't use my personal phone for anything other than calls and browsing the internet now, so really it comes down to being able to buy a large screen phone for less than an iPhone 6. Setting up androids to work in a secure network is way more complicated.

however iphones are just simply convenient and nice to use. app restriction isnt that big of a deal since most general purpose apps that an average person may need dont go beyond 10 pounds anyway

If there's one thing apple does is make things that just work. Has everything you need, no bullshit. Everything feels slick and easy. I'd keep it but sadly apple has made the iphone experience quite expensive. Lightning cable costs 25 bucks easily, they actively block third party cables.

android is great, but sadly the problem with android phones are its manufacturers.... Most of the phones you get will be abandoned. No updates, usually nasty bugs in them, clunky custom UI's and just a general headache.
But atleast android respects VESA standards and cables are cheap.
Personally i highly prefer apple's quality and their OS, i don't much care for widgets. or home screen customization. I just want a phone that works and does what I need it to do.
Literally bought a 6s a week ago so I could swap my SIM card between them and see if I like it better than my Nexus 6. I like the bigger screen and 3rd party apps and root stuff you can do better than what I can do with the iPhone. But the iPhone has way better Bluetooth and stays alive longer, along with the jailbreak its can also do a lot of stuff, but not as much as Android. Android is better overall for me, especially the larger screen for media

Android is buggy and crashes a lot, the same apps you can get form apple are is so many cases worse, for no particular reason. Having functional blue tooth, a file system, and easy loading of photos without iTunes is great, as is a built in hotspot. The hardware on the top end phones is limited by a shitty OS.
Apple, is clean, fast, Superior apps and functional for people who don't need to rice their phone like an Austistic highschooler. iTunes sucks balls, but that is only an issue if you are forever changing your library of songs and films, and not downloading direct to your phone. No hotspot without a specific plan, and no Bluetooth transfer or file system access really sucks, but is 100 solved with a jailbreak, ifile, airblue sharing and mifi.

My take on it is that having an android is a constant battle to justify not having an iPhone. You tell yourself you care about the intense customization, the sideloading, the features. But when it comes down to it my iPhone's have been significantly better at the things I actually use my phone for on a daily basis(calls,messages[being the one android user that ruins a group iMessage is awkward], camera, and social media)
Is it possible(even likely) that Android has gotten significantly better in the past 3 years? Sure, but unlike at the end of my HTC contract I've never felt dissatisfied or motivated to move away from my iPhones

Let's start with

Android is nice if you want to use pirated apps, custom roms etc, and that's it. With iOS everything feels just right. I can't really put it into words. Everything works, there are little or no errors (atleast for me, and i've been using my iPhone for a good couple of months) etc, but the only problem is that the iphones are expensive as fuck. If you can afford it, go with an iPhone 6 or 6s, if you can't, just buy an affordable android phone, i'm sure you will like that too.
(even though i really dislike android after owning an iPhone, my next phone will be a Samsung S6 edge, because i can't afford the iPhone 6s, and the iPhone 6 is not that big of an upgrade from the 5s)

I prefer the iPhone. I had a galaxy s4, now have the iPhone 6s. ROMs weren't all they had been hyped up to be, I ran into LOTS of bugs, and the layout often seemed cluttered. Sometimes the galaxy would heat up so much (from no activity) that it would hurt to have in my pants pocket. The iPhone is more basic but runs more smoothly. Also, imessage is amazing when compared to any texting you could get on an android. An iphone will give you a constantly good experience whereas an android will be amazing sometimes but be absolute shit at other times.
I am an android die-hard fan, rooted once and never looked back. I literally feel the true power of my phone now. Free apps, infinite customization possibilities and even hacking if you're into that.
Girlfriend uses iphone 6, and apart from the smoother experience and the premium feel i find it dull and boring. But it is sleek to look at, and pretty.

You have to use the newest of each and really compare based on what they can do. iPhone 6s is a great work phone and great for everyday use, but if you want an unlimited software experience you need the android. I use an S7 as well, I can download torrents, movies.. Etc which is literally the only thing I do differently than with the iPhone.

People will tell you that android is superior race and how it is so much better and flexible. iOS is perfectly fine and gets the job done. So in a nutshell my experience says; if you are not the person who likes to work under the hood to get a personal experience, go with Apple. You will be extremely content with what you get. If you are willing to learn your way around your phone (still, extremely simple) to get a UI personalized to YOUR decisions, then Ya, android master race

Simple: iOS does not have unified app storage. If I download a file type not recognized by the OS, I could still install a custom made app not from the app store and open it on Android. iOS is very limiting for doing shit like saving files in one app and opening them in another.
Apple products are also exceedingly pretentious, but that isn't why I dont use their stuff.
