The theory is that when you pick your door initially, you're picking one out of three doors, giving you a 33.33% chance of picking the right one.
Then, after one door is eliminated, there are two doors left. If you decide to switch to the remaining door, you have now choses one door out of two, giving you a 50% chance of selecting the correct door.
That's the math anyway.
