The real reason Jews get so much shit is because they are insular and don't assimilate into other societies, so they become seen as threats/foreign entities. The only real "conspiracy theory" I subscribe to is that of the manipulation of opinion by elite capitalists to subvert democracy and/or other forms of government which would restrict or destroy their power. My hypothesis is that at one time all across the world the human being was much more advanced than today, they could use the energy of the earth and universe thru there bodies to do just about anything last person being able to do this being jesus. I think people who have something to hide encourage people to view "conspiracy theorists" as mentally unhealthy because they know that our instincts as animals are to ostracize and outcast the mentally unhealthy. They prey on that and encourage it so as to create a strong emotional response whenevr anybody comes up with a so called conspiracy theory. People with completely valid concerns and ideas about real things, like your example concerning the financial system, are somehow lumped in with those who believe they have been abducted by aliens and that there are robots living among us or other things that border on complete superstition. 10 years ago, if you said the government gathers records of nearly everything you do online, you would have largely been considered a nutjob. Even now, with the information readily available that the government indeed does monitor most or all of the internet traffic within the country and some abroad, people still think you are ridiculous for suggesting things like companies selling your information or being complicit in government investigations without a warrant. Once people have been sold on an idea and have passionate feelings against an opposing idea, they are extremely reluctant to admit they are wrong. Even in the face of damning evidence, they will still cling to any shreds that they can salvage from their original take.
