Consequently a crime cannot be committed against a picture. No person, child or otherwise is negatively affected by these pictures and the actions of consequence. In addition; it is important to recognise the difference between a cartoon drawing, and a picture of an actual child. The former, again has no rights as it is nothing more than a drawing. The latter however, is an image of a person who is alive and conscious - they have rights and they need to be protected. Hence CP is illegal, again as it should be.
Whether you personally agree with this is your concern, but it is of no consequence. Because it doesn't influence the facts of the situation.
