In the meantime, use apricot scrub acne formula to clean face, rubbing alcohol around hair line and behind ears to cut back on oil produced from your hair and scalp, and continue to follow your usual regime with benzoil peroxide, salicylic acid, etc. If you can afford Accutane and have the liver for it, great, do that instead of the OTC acne shit.

How long have you been on it? It works for everyone, but to varying degrees. For some it helps and then the acne just comes back. The idea is to "reset" the oil producing glands so that they never produce the same amount of oil. If you can stick it out and your liver will tolerate it, you should see lasting results. So I mean is there a proper way to treat acne? I get acne on my forehead all the time and occasionally on my chin area. Tried everything: I drink 3L of water everyday, cutting down on carbs, not eating anything for 2 days straight, working out in the morning, scrubbing my face with face-wash every night, I shower everyday and I put moisturiser on everyday.
Nothing seems to work, I'd say half of them makes my skin even worse. The times I have a lack of spots are completely random and don't seem to be caused by anything. They get a hell of a lot less noticeable when I shave, but that doesn't explain spots on my forehead.

I was really dirty as a teenager. Showered maybe once a week, I don't recall ever washing my face except for whatever water got on it when I washed my hair, changed bed sheets like 3 times a year, wore same clothes all the time and I never had issues with acne. If you have genuine acne which is a skin condition where your skin produces too much oily sebum (Not just the typical teenage hormone imbalance or not washing your face regularly) then this is the only cure. Had acne like OP til I was 23, went on roaccutane, 6 months later it was 99% gone. Still get the odd tiny one now and then but that's mostly if I've been touching my face a lot or forgot to wash sweat off it.

I had a severe traumatic brain injury when I was like 10. It made me kind of a quiet autistic kid for about 8 years. Seemed normal on the outside, though.
Anyway, was never self-aware about my appearance. Had shitty self-esteem blah, blah, blah. Ended up getting acne when I was 12. On a scale from 1-10, 10 being OP's pic and 1 being none, I'd say I was usually at a 5, 6-6.5 on a rare occasion. Either way, it was embarrassing and sucked. It could've been worse, but it was enough to do some damage.
I was stupid about dealing with my acne and used some methods that were really hard on my skin. Unfortunately this left me with acne scars. Initially about a 7 or 8 on the 1-10 scale. These were 100x worse than acne.
Spent years doing different treatment. Had fraxel laser treatment a couple of times. Helped out a decent amount. Took that 7-8 to about a 5, and then a 4 as time progressed (it keeps working with time).
Definitely a big help has been my dermaroller, though. It has shrunk the pores on my nose that were once huge. On top of that, it has helped out my overall complexion and acne scars. I'd say they've brought them down to a 1.5-2. You can't see them unless it's harsh light. I always get compliments on my skin being so flawless now. feelsgoodman
