Usually, I use the Maruchan ramen, put everything into a big bowl, hot water, 2 eggs, microwave 3 minutes. Make sure egg under the water or it will explode. Add semi thick slices of ham, chopped green onions, and bean sprouts. There also these long, skinny mushrooms I can't remember the name of.

Shin ramen is the best. I go to a ranch market down here in San Diego. They sell nothing but bomb Asian food. I pick up a few of these and some frozen pot stickers. I get this flavor most often, even though it has more salt than the chicken and I don't like the smell of the beef one.
I used to eat this more often when I was younger since my grandpa would always go to china town or little tokyo on his way around town and always brought back either hostess pastries or nissin noodles. He'd help me make them and it's one of the fond memories I still clearly remember of him when he was still around. Now I have to go out and get them myself, and I just have a bunch that I don't make since I don't have anyone to talk to when making them while my parents are either at work or too busy in general to talk on the phone and my brother goes to a different uni.
I like a lot of different ramen but this one holds sentimental value. I usually just throw the dried veggies and shrimp out since the shrimp still has the little shit tube on it, and the veggies don't feel good to eat. I get a lime or lemon, cut it in half and squeeze the juice out, and let it seep into the bottom of the cup. I also scrape out a little pulp and let it sit on top. Sometimes I squirt sriracha or some other hot sauce and let it sit on the dry ramen while the water heats up. Pour in some boiling water, bean sprouts, sliced onions and maybe peas and cilantro, all the while have a pan heated up to fry 2-3 eggs as the noodles steep for 3 minutes. I have mushroom soy sauce and use that on the eggs, sometimes I use fried pulled pork if I have any leftovers and don't want to make tacos with it. I wish I could've shared a bowl of this with my grandpa. It's not the cleanest or nicest to look at but it's still mine and he wouldn't mind me making something for him.

As far as what to add to it. Mushrooms, and sometimes some fancy cheese. I boil portabella mushrooms and the cheese if I use any, for about 10 minutes, then I add the soup. Good as fuck.
I like egg in other ramen, but not in shin ramen. fuck adding kraft singles to shin. If cheese is added it's a hard, rich, cheese.
You could also add green onion, that's always good in ramen.
They changed the recipe of the shin black and the new recipe I really can't tell the difference between them anymore. So it's definitely not worth double the price.
