In my case, a preference by the artists who drew pictures I have that fit the request (for vixens).
More cynically, perhaps because those who draw much of this require payment per character, and so solo work is preferred as a means of expense management.

Mostly. Also, having seen literally >200k fur images (I went through nearly all of e621 at one point) a lot of art is solo. It's commissioned that way, or it's artists showing off one character. There's plenty of "literally straight" and "gay" and clusterfuck gangbangs around too, but when filtered through posters sometimes you get mostly solo because it's probably over half the stuff out there
