Most of it is memorization. You won't learn U-substitution until later but a variation of it may help you once you memorize the formulas.
If you algebraically manipulate it and set sets of the problem equal to a variable it helps a ton.
Good news is, if you're good at trig identities you'll be a step ahead of some in Calc 2.
