Not what I read. When a hasbio scientists were developing the fluffies, one scientist was in a rush to creare a new breed, the 2.0, and ended up making a freak "fluffy" with no neck, nose tail, mane, reproduction organs, etc. It was just a red body with four legs, eyes, and a mouth that always smiles. All the other scientists laughed at the one scientist for being a dumbass. To take revenge for his humiliation, the one scientist planned to implant the freak fluffy DNA into all of the regular fluffies but he only managed to implant a few before the Peta breakout

Got an idea for an "update' that can keep them alive beyond their years. An enzyme engineered the repair the damage from age and abuse for up to 10 years, depending on abuse. Want to see a fluffy have the shot and watch its family die and try to seppuku but fails until the enzyme runs out, having it heal all fucked up and deformed.
