So /b/
I have a badly dislocated shoulder. How do I fix it without going to a doctor/ER?
I have an extremely high pain tolerance and I'm also pretty drunk atm, so unless you suggest something crazy not much is out of the question.
The pain doesn't bother me but I'm an avid fisherman and it's limiting my arm movement quite significantly, so it obviously needs to be fixed. What do? I tried putting my arm straight and pushing against the wall really hard but that did nothing other than seem to make it even worse.

>have an extremely high pain tolerance

Med fag here. Go to the doctor. Even if you put it back in and have a full range of motion, there might be nerve damage that will only cause more problems down the road. Also, it's extremely unlikely that you'll be able to fix it adequately yourself, and it'll come back to bite you in the ass. Was talking to a 70 year old patient the other day who can only lift his right arm to shoulder height. Told me he regretted not taking care of it sooner. Cheers.

No, I'm just not a bitch. Go post your autistic shit on a banana thread, faggot.

Go to the doctor. My dad can't lift his arm above his shoulder because of this shit. He's 54 so not that old. It will bite you in the ass.

Doesn't a doctor just shove it back into place, though? There has to be a way to do that properly yourself, without having to pay a doctor hundreds or thousands of dollars to do it.
I just joined my own insurance policy and it won't be valid until next month. Would it be worth it just to wait a month with a dislocated shoulder over (possibly) properly fixing it myself somehow?

both of these, same shit with my dad, he didn't have insurance, and now he can't lift his arm about his shoulder, regrets it to this day.

Easier said then done, just because you get it back into place doesn't mean your going to do it without fucking yourself up. Just pop down to an urgent care, cheaper than a hospital, if they're still open where you are. However much it ends up costing isn't going to be worth the loss of range in movement for the rest of your life. That said, if your so adamant on doing it yourself youtube you dumbass, enjoy not being able to lift your arm about your shoulder
Is waiting a month an option or do I have to go now, without insurance, and pay out the ass? I fish and fight and I really don't want to fuck up the mobility in my arm, so if paying a shitload means keeping my arm movement, well, then I guess I have no choice

hang yourself
if you hang yourself, your kicking and twisting as you suffocate will naturally allow your muscles to pull your arm back into socket
upside is because of the asphyxiation, not only won't you notice any of the extreme pain from the arm wrenching back into socket, but you will also probably have a monster orgasm before you pass out
do it with an inch to spare from the floor, so that it will take a long time, your neck won't get broken and you might get 'rescued' in time, particularly if you phone 911 in advance
/b is here to help :)

a month is a joke, ideally you want it treated within 24 hours, the longer it stays that way the more stretched the surrounding tissue gets, making another occurrence even more likely, also it gets progressively harder to put back into place the longer you wait. Not to mention your tendons and ligaments are more prone to injury while its dislocated, which is why you don't do it yourself, also the chance of fracturing it etc. Wouldn't recommend sleeping on it if you don't have to, your just gonna fuck up your shoulder.

Remember you may already be too late.

It's almost midnight so no, no urgent care open. I thought about going earlier but like I said, my insurance isn't valid until next month so I decided against it. But I think I'm going to go to the ER tomorrow if urgent care isn't open on the weekends.
I just really don't want to owe a fuck ton of money, but if it's going to cause permanent damage then I guess I'm going to

Well, shit. It happened yesterday and I slept on it last night. I tried not to, but no matter what position i fall asleep in i wake up on my right side. Hospital isn't an option atm as I'm too drunk to drive so I'll have to go there in the morning

Your call, i'd really advise against waiting any longer than you have to though. There's a good chance you fuck it up while your sleeping. Say whatever you like about money, I get that it's not an emergency, but you will NEVER get back the range of motion your susceptible to losing right now.

You can always sell your rod.
Go to the ER bro. U might be able to get the bill written off as a charity case if you're broke and don't have insurance.

Well, soon as you can then if getting a ride isn't an option. If possible you should get your arm in a sling at a 90 degree angle across your chest, put something soft between your body and arm, folded blanket etc. and sleep on your back, using something to keep you from rolling, extra pillows, sleep in chair etc. Hopefully your arms fine, urgent care should be open on saturdays

Hell no. I kickbox too so not having my arm functional isn't an option.

I had an issue where I fell down a stair case and my shoulder has never been the same.
Lean your shoulder over the corner or edge of a table while letting your arm hang over, and it will slowly roll back into place.
The first few weeks you might dislocate it in your sleep on accident, from personal experience sleeping with a soft cotton arm wrap helped a lot.
Go to an urgent care. It'll run about $70, and you'll get it fixed up along with a script for painkillers. Don't be a faggot and fix your arm you tard
