Pretty much this. I'm a lazy fuck who just wants to come home to my PC at the end of the day and have shit work. I don't want to customize it, I don't want to tinker with it, I don't want to mess around to get things working that shouldn't technically work. Using Linux (Debian Jessie, to be exact) right now. It has it's quirks (occasionally the desktop will freeze up for a second or two, things like that) but in general I find it way better than Windows. It does absolutely everything I could want, just takes a little while to learn how to use it. Now that I know what I'm doing with it, I'm glad I made the switch. If you're a lazy cuck, stick with windows and let bill stick his hands in your pants for all I care.
I'm learning Linux in school now, seems great if all you plan to do it play with servers due to lack of friends.

I have a mini-ITX Windows Server domain controller in my home. It contains a library of images for every version of Windows, and all drivers for the other 10 computers I own; I push F12 to PXE boot, and any OS I want is pushed at 1Gbps. The newly applied OS boots, joins the domain, and retrieves all my custom computer and user settings via group policy. Once that is done, all of the applications I need and all Windows updates are pushed out silently via SCCM. I reimage all of my computers often in this way; no DVDs, no manual installs.
The reason I use Windows Client is because of Windows Server.
