He didn't kill them actually. His son did, I believe he was 24 at the time, worked as a chef, had his own knives, past history of violence and even threatened to kill his boss with a knife. The day OJ returned home, the first thing he did was lawyer up his son, even before himself. His son was never questioned or even a suspect, although a mountain of evidence was turned into the LAPD, they turned a blind eye. Look it up.

My understanding is that Ronald Goldman wasn't Nicole's lover, just a platonic friend and former co-worker. On the night they were killed Nicole had left her glasses at the restaurant where Ronald worked and he went to drop them off after his shift and walked in on OJ killing her. He was just collateral damage by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
