Alright anons. Theres a shitload of atheists on here and i want you to try to flaw/break my logic. However, this isnt a argument of science, its a proposition of math.
Because im muslim(nice b8 rasheed), lets go with the heaven/hell concept.
If you die, there are 2 possibilities.
A.) Heaven/Hell (god or whatever exists)
B.) Nothing Happens (god doesnt exist)
Hence theres a 50/50 chance of either/or happening.
If youre religious, one of two things can happen:
A.) Heaven/Hell
B.) Nothing
If youre not religious, one of two things can happen:
A.) Hell (notice theres no heaven)
B.) Nothing
Whats my point; religion acts as a type of insurance on your afterlife. Even though i dont necesarily agree with this, if youre a non believer you go to hell. If youre religious, and god doesnt exist, you havent lost anything. No harm done. But if youre Not religious, youre fucked for that 50% chance.
Why would you throw away that 50% chance? Would you flip a coin to determine if you "Burn in hellfire" or "Nothing".
At the end of the day. A properly religious person is a compliment to society (Note; youre a fool if you consider groups like ISIS, Al-Qaeda, KKK and the LRA to be 'properly religious')
I created this concept when i was a kid, so perhaps i havent considered certain aspects of it.
Hope this puts some sense into your head fuckers. If not; best of luck.

>I created this concept when i was a kid, so perhaps i havent considered certain aspects of it.
What is Pascal's Wager?
The problem with pascal's wager is if you believe in the wrong religion, you still go to hell.
Holy shit is there actually a concept behind this. I was completely unaware

This doesnt apply to islam. An aspect i didnt consider. Little do people know that in islam, other religions are actually accepted provided that the person has a clean heart and does good deeds etc
>>674249239
This dows apply to Islam as id does to any other religion. You just assume Islam to be the right one in the first place.
>>674248359
bait
>If you die, there are 2 possibilities.
No, there is an infinite amount of possibilities. Your perspective and history limits you to two.
>>674249515
Ah good point, i didnt think of it like that. Well done anon, youve proven to me that there are some actually educated people on chan nowadays
>>674249753
Excuse me for considering the top religions of the world..
>>674248359
>If you die, there are 2 possibilities.
Oh really? I didn't know it had been officially decided.
>>674249995
Top two currently.
if i don't believe in hell, why would i be afraid of it?
i don't need to devote my life to a random religion instead of doing what i think is right if i don't live in fear
>>674249995
implication that religion actually has a dictation on reality
"your" reality is not "the" reality, no matter how much a book tells you so
>>674248359
If I were a god, I would not take to my heaven some opportunistic dodger.
>>674248359
There are so many religions that the chance wouldn't be 50%. Also there is an infinite number of possible religions in the future. Maybe it's some subgroup of christianity that will grant you access to heaven. How would you know before dying?
There is a 50/50 chance of you getting hit by a meteorite every time you walk outside, you either will or won't. Why would you go outside?
>>674251692
You get hit by the meteor regardless..doesnt matter if you stay indoors
zozzle
>>674252095
Suspend your disbelief and assume that the meteorite won't hit your house
So if I don't really believe in God or the teachings of a religion, but just pretend like I do, that will be enough to trick God into accepting me into heaven? Good to know.
The biggest problem is that religion prevents you from doing things you might otherwise do. If you follow Pascal's Wager, you're still devoting your life to not breaking the rules of your religion.
Watch this: https://youtu.be/fZpJ7yUPwdU
If any omnipotent god created everything then it already had the power to know if you would or would not believe in it- billions of years before your grandparents were even born, let alone you yourself.
Therefore I am not in control of my faith- if anything- if there is an almighty god.

That or our place in whatever afterlife is predetermined anyway

Your argument is a rehash of the old "Pascal's wager", which has been refuted time and again. The main counterargument is summarized by "avoiding the wrong hell", because there's an infinity of possible religions. For all one knows, you go to hell unless you worship the devil, or floss your ass cheeks while singing praises to the tooth-fairy backwards. Also, pic related.
