What I do is this: I put them in plain black flash drives and keep them in an obvious spot like on a lanyard with my others. I make sure the other ones are special colours (Mostly pink or some other vibrant colour) no one fucks with them because they're always with me. If I need to I hang them lower than the rest so if, for whatever reason, I need to dispose of them I can "accidentally" dunk them in a glass of liquid. As for encryption I just use the basic password protect stuff and make sure I have nothing on there that makes them obviously mine.

Yeah, that's typically how most mature tarantulas are gotten. Wild caught and imported. It's sort of shitty because in areas where their habitat is being destroyed so their numbers are thinning out, they're being captured reducing the wild population, further threatening the species. The Texas Brown is really common though and their habitat isn't really being threatened and ranges from as far north as Denver to as far as Louisiana.
