When I was a kid in like '93 my dad had a Spectrum game console. I don't know much about gaming. All I remember is that the console looked like a keyboard and the games were on kind of cassette type things. Anyway, there was a Robin Hood game that my dad played. He used to sit up all night playing it (he was a college student at the time) and one night when I was like 2, I woke up and went into the living room of our tiny flat. He asked me if I wanted to try it. Needless to say I died instantly. The scary part was that, when you die in the game, the Sheriff of Nottingham catches Robin and lynches him from a fucking tree. It just cuts to a blood-red background and a silhouette of Robin hanging by a noose. I had nightmares for weeks. Apparently, though I can't remember, I woke up in tears one night and when my mum asked me what was wrong I said I could see Robin hanging from a lamp-post outside my bedroom window. I've looked on Google but can't find a picture of the screen when Robin is caught. Kind of want to see it again.
