Fluffy ponies let people write fictional accounts of fake creatures that are generally all considered to be horrible awful things getting hurt. Personally I find it cathartic in the same way video games or movies are to me.
In the end it's all fake, and no worse than guro/loli/shota/etc. If anything it's probably better than those since at least our fake depictions bear the least resemblance to reality.

Fuck it, instead of milling the adapter part for my helmets air inlet hose i'm just going to take a mold of the adapter, make a negative, and cast an adapter out of aluminum in one piece, it's easier and requires less work on my part.
It's not cutting corners, I don't cut corners when dealing with equipment that could keep me alive, I just find easier ways of doing it without compromising safety.
