Actually my crk can be deployed faster from my pocket by purposely catching it on the pocket as I pull it out. It's literally opened by pulling it from my pocket and since it's on a bearing system and has no springs to speak of it won't break any time soon. Switch blades are pretty stupid in contrast. So are spring assist. I can also slam it open by pushing down on it like a spring assist, because the ball bearing system is so effexient, I don't have to push very hard to make it do the full rotation. So there really is no point to spring systems.

Real. It's real Damascus in that it's a blend of high carbon and stainless that's been folded over and over and then polished. The high carbon makes it hard the nickel stainless makes it flexible and the combination helps keep it's edge as shreds when used. It's not exactly rust proof though.
