A lot of the acting and dialogue was really poor which is OK for an action movie but the action didn't even start till halfway through. They got too caught up in trying to build a boring backstory and all of these "subtle" call backs to the earlier film. What the FUCK. This is fucking lowbro comedy cloaked in ghostbusters. The original worked because it was sharp comedy with confident and witty acting. Regardless of whether they were women or not all of their deliveries were terrible. None of them sold any of their lines well or with confidence. Which I can sympathize with the actors a little because based off of what I just saw it seems like they weren't given any funny lines to begin with.
They are just trying to sell a poorly written generic comedy as ghostbusters. This movie should be aborted. If they literally couldn't feature one witty line in the entire trailer than this movie is doomed.

This movie, though....ugh. I don't know what I can say. Sadly, I know I'll be dragged to it because my girlfriend is really hyped for it.
And I've been trying to keep an open mind. I really don't care if it's four women - just as long as the movie is good and well-written. That doesn't seem to be the case based on the trailer, though. And the "girl power" thing is kind of a turn off; it's being pressed so hard that it's almost funnier than the lines in the movie.
I mean, imagine if a bunch of guys went to a knitting or scrapbooking meet and at the end showed off what they made like they did some type of cultural breakthrough - they'd be laughed out of the room.
