Pulling a knife out in a fight is escalation of deadly force. Literally legally IDENTICAL in the US to drawing a firearm. Since it is lethal force, using a knife is only legal in self defense if you think your life is threatened, and only enough actions until it is not threatened. Cutting someone at all after they are down is assault with a deadly weapon. Cutting someone at all if they just tried to steal stuff and did not threaten you can count as attempted murder. Literally if shooting someone in the face would be illegal, then hurting them in any way with a knife is also. If drawing a gun would be illegal, putting a knife is too.
Literally any time you could need it a gun is many times more effective. Quit being a fag and just carry a firearm.
