The exotic setting is actually what I love the most about Morrowind.
Bug-taxis, ant egg mines, huge shroom towers, ashlanders living in crab shells wearing chitin armor, farming the floating tentacle things, dwemer robot ruins, cancer victim dungeon, moon-prison etc.
The rest of elder scrolls use bland medieval boring as fuck settings that are in thousands of games.
Who remembers this one? If you have never played it, then do your self a favor and try it out. Infinite population, unit customization, leveling for individual units, and huge maps and battles. A good classic in my books.
