Shit compared to the book.
As a film it's very overrated too, the actors are ass, story makes no sense (Why does Jack go nuts? Just because he's an asshole? Book had a reason for it). Absolutely butchered every last piece of the beautifully crafted character developement of King. Jack was such a sad character in the book.
Filmography in it is quite ahead of it's time but that's about it.
