I totally get that some communities could in fact abolish laws and live without the need for enforcement. But honestly what would it take for that? Definitely a closed community of people that can be trusted.

I got robbed at gunpoint working at a Gas station. They sprayed pepper spray into my eyes and beat me down with the knob of the gun after I gave them the money.
Once they were gone I pressed the alarm button and within a minute police arrived.
They immediately ordered the search for the robbers and then treated me.
They had a spray for my eyes that made the pepperspray stop burning and then took me to the office to have my wound checked and file my report. While I was still telling what happened an officer rushed in to tell us the culprits were under arrest after the helicopter found them.

I've been arrested many, many times in the last 5 years on drug charges, usually following an OD with an ambulance involved. Cops have always been pleasant and offered encouraging words about finding help and getting clean, etc. I'm polite and respectful of them and I get it in return.
The last time I dealt with a cop was when I was 4 or 5 years old.
Couple of cops visited the kindergarten, told us about their job, showed their handcuffs and stuff.
The climax of the day was when we got to ride in and actual cop car.

We got pulled over near downtown for some reason, unbeknownst to me as I was sleeping in the passenger side.
They had found a meth pipe, a felony charge in our state. I also had a suspended license, no insurance, and no "safety sticker." My girlfriend obviously didn't say we were a couple due to her age. I did tell them the truth. I was parting and no shape to drive. We politely left the house to not overstay our welcome. She didn't have a license, but I had taught her to drive. I had a meth pipe, but only the residue in it.
I complied. What could I have done? Make it worse?
The two cops had discussed what to do, aside from looking at my clean record.
They had decided to confiscate my pipe, and allowed me to call a person with a valid license to come pick us both up and let me go. My girl called her mom. Her mom came, and nothing else happened. I took a nap, had a quickie and a joint, and went to the beach later that afternoon.

I drive semi trucks. I was on I75 in michigan heading north. Pulling a flatbed trailer. Had a very small load on. The speed limit in michigan is 60 for us. I had my cruise set at 64. I passed M59 and saw red lights flashing behind me. State trooper. I pulled over, when he climbed up on my steps he was polite. Asked all yhe normal questions. I was also polite and answered everything. Finally he asked the big question. >do you know why i pulled you over?

Buddies and I were making a retarded film 15 years back, one guy was covered in shaving cream and officer L stoped us from entering gas station. He was part of the rest of the video later and eventually got shit in that car jacking in philly where there's like 50 black officers beating the ever living shit out of the black dude who was car jacking and shit our buddy. National story for 3 seconds since the guy was such a douche and it was black cops wailing on his ass while he was trying to bite fingers off another cop. Guy looked like a blob of swollen shit when they got done. No one cared. Officer L is fine now.

I had a tire blowout on the highway. I pulled over to the shoulder and went to change my tire when I realized I had the spare but not the jack. Called AAA but had to wait an hour or so. About 10 minutes pass and a State Trooper stops behind me and I'm not excited at all with dealing with it. He comes up to my window and after a brief explanation he offers to change my tire with his jack so I can move along quicker. All while being extremely personable and friendly to me. Not the typical condescending or looking down on you type of cop. I was surprised and grateful. He was a cool guy.

Apart from getting my stuff stolen in 7th grade once and reporting it to the police, I haven't had to deal with them any further yet. Though I do a lot of breaking and entering of abandoned buildings, I've only been almost caught by security guards once, cops were never called. Apparently I also look like a timid and innocent guy, which makes smuggling weed into germany pretty easy, though nowadays most policemen at trainstations are more looking for refugees than white people.

I guess the racism in the police is not that clear cut. It has more to do with groups than skin color.
