Nothing, we just did absolutely nothing. It was just gaming/fucking/sleeping, never going out or having good conversations. With him I was always at my worst, he was kind of holding me back I guess. He comes from a very cold household, where they also have a "just pretend everything is fine and it will be" mentality, whereas I value honesty and sincerity very high and grew up with very loving persons.
We broke up, and became much closer friends with the occasional benefits, so our 'relationship' is a lot better than it has ever been while we were together.
And of course, Finland still has the best guys :P

I don't think there's a definite answer to that, because it's different for everyone and for every situation. As I'm borderline asexual (I don't know how elso to describe it), my attraction to people/him doesn't come from hedonistic tendencies. We also don't share much interests or opinions, neither do most of my friends. I think, for me, whether I like a person or not is based on the vibe they give off, and whether we actually become friends or not is based on the situations/fate/whatever. If those situations have deeper meaning or are totally random is irrelevant. But this is definitely not how everyone forms relationships, or a pattern that every future relationship of mine should follow.

I understood relationships only as dating, because in Finnish it practically means only that. Family is not something I can choose, so that doesn't count in my opinion. And I do have classmates and people I work with but if I don't feel they share at least some of my ideals and interests, it all remains strictly business.

Well, I *did* receive some pretty harsh treatment in Korea, too. Verbal, sometimes physical abuse, being kicked out of a store for not being Korean, nearly spat on a few times, etc. I began to hate Korea and Koreans because of it. But, the good times outweighed the bad, and once I stopped complaining, I really began to love Korea, but not enough to really take the language seriously. These days, I can't stop dreaming about Korea, and I do most of my grocery shopping at a Korean-owned store. I've nothing but respect for the Koreans.
Maybe it's Stockholm Syndrome, or maybe I've just grown and learned patience. I'm not sure, but I like it. I've become very disillusioned with Japan over the last 2 months though.
