See I don't really look at it that way, I mean they are bad and good like people. In the stories that make the fluffies out to be little shits I obviously experience a degree of catharsis at the abuse, but the ones that really speak to me the most are the ones which portray them sympathetically, play up their positive traits. It makes the abuse that much more poignant.
As I said earlier in the thread its almost existential. It reflects our own existence, and the cruelty of humanity towards them shows the indifference and malice of the universe towards us, and indeed of us towards ourselves.
I do like the mindless sadistic violence as well but on a much more basic level.
