Not saying this is the case for indoor flooring, but the roof patio at my work doesn't have the supports attached to anything. The stone patio just rests on top of the support "cups" (they're like dome things that sort of nestle into an indentation on the frames that hold the patio stones).

Sprinkler system designer here, can confirm that this is under floor services, aircon/heating etc. The floor will be installed above it (yellow crosses on floor show where floor supports/legs will go. Sprinklers will protect this void beneath the floor.

It is a semi conductor factory. What you are seeing is called the sub floor. Each one of those pipes is a supply or return line for gasses, acids, or ewhatever else we use to make computer chips. No installed yet are the floor stand offs on which a raised metal floor (RMF) sits upon. The pipes are all different sizes lengths because each one has to go to a specific piece of equipment. There is something like 100k miles of piping in this factory and each piece has to be precisely the right length or it the factory won't fit together. right.

Those metal beams didn't float to the surface and require wood to keep from floating away. Those do look like sprinkler lines but most likely they are house vacuum lines. The factory was building with plugs in the floor that can be removed during equipment maintenance for quick access to vacuums. That is probably what they are.

Along the window you can see a bunch of concrete things sticking out. That will be how high the floor is. It is mandatory to have fire suppression in the sub floor when chemicals, other than water are being piped through.
