I used to use the Hermetic set. I loved it a lot, apart from the fact it was colorless. I actually learned how to read with rider-waite so I relied more on that part of symbolism. Eventually I gave it up because I always felt doubtful on my readings as compared to colorful cards. My favorite decks were the aquarian tarot and the morgan greer. What are your thoughts on those OP?

It's a lot of fun to me. I've found a new appreciation for the colonial eras so for me it's like playing a simulation of something I'm interested in...
But the other Age of Empires games are all great too. Age of Mythology too. They're like the quintessential RTS series to me. There's so many different ways to build and win games that you aren't just stuck with a few basic strategies.
Unless you play competitively in multiplayer I guess, but that's never been a draw for me in any game.

Ah, Hermetic is my first set of cards too. I only bought them a month or so ago to start practicing!
I'll admit, I think I'd like colored ones better. I don't get much of a "feeling" from a lot of the card art. Certain ones, like Two of Pentacles, do have that effect. But it's not something I can rely on a lot, for sure.

Well what kind of card art do you like? The traditional rider-waite is amazing for making informed decisions because the colors always relate to emotions and direct thoughts... for me, at least. Try the vivid version, they're even more evocative- although slightly less authentic feeling. The other two I mentioned are pretty amazing. I've got the steam punk, dragon, zombie apocalypse, Marseilles, and a few others for the artwork... I love the artwork in those decks.

I can't say one way or the other, but it doesn't seem to me like she has anything of value to gain from it. If you look at it like a utilitarian, most of the people she gathers seem to be more of a detriment, a liability, someone she has to take care of. It seems like a lot more trouble than its worth unless there was some clear benefit that outweighed it all.
