I have been dealing with a divorce process for about 8 months now and my chain of command threatened to mast me (NJP) if I don't break off my relationship with a girl that has been helping me get through it since the beginning. What control does your command actually have with enforcing who you may or may not have a relationship with on your own time? I don't see why it matters as long as you do your job well.
I'd literally kill to have the opportunity to serve, so I guess I have a different perspective and I think you have something worth living for. Maybe just keep the chick on the DL until the divorce is over and focus on being awesome at your job and look for opportunities to advance.
