I'm not OP, but I always felt safe even without weapons. I own guns because I like shooting sports, plinking and skeet, and to deal with coyote. But I own a lot of land where I can shoot anytime and I have to worry about wild animals (not coyote so much, they run from people but attack pets, but I do have to worry about boar and wild dogs.
And I dont think this country is shitty. I got clean water, firefighters, good cops, a great job, health insurance... and I'm a recreational pilot, I couldn't do that in the UK unless I were rich.

Depends how you got the land but there are good opportunities here in UK, even working shit jobs like i do. Comparing to Lithuania, if you rent a room in UK as a newcomer, even minimum wage will let you live not a bad life (again, Manchester), getting a good job will let you live like a king. For a comparison, I earn only around 18k a year and we live quite a good life with my wife. Jobs like IT developer or would land 50k a year if not over. Some International finance management jobs can land you 75k easily. That amount of money is retarded, just gotta have that education / experience.
