New construction houses in the US are built just fine for the most part, but they are diamonds in the rough that you have to modify/ enhance to increase value/ functionality. Yes, the builder threw in a cheesy mantle to get the job did, but common sense would have suggested you either mount your piece of shit 600lb tv properly to the studs in the wall. Basically the builder takes the gamble that everything will last just long enough to clear the warranty period and that the homeowner doesnt do retarded shit like the OPs pic. Student loan debt had one for 5k paid off another for 10k and one more for 18k. About $15 hr maybe more maybe less. I get a $9 hr plus tips... which doesn't look good on paper. I either need to go back to school which I hated or a trade... or learn how to invest my money and make other work for me.
