He completely shifted gears on his sound and style, and it worked for a lot of people who didn't even know who he was before Awaken, my love, I've bumped old stuff while with friends and had them go "wait, is this him?!" who don't like anything before that album.

At face value, the focus of his dance is to mock the hip-hop dance craze going around, like Drake's shit. But at the same time, the dance moves here mimic things like pushing trollies, carrying shopping bags, picking things off of shelves, etc. to represent how blacks (although most people also) become complacent/try to feel content with the status quo by falling into consumerism. But on top of THAT, the black kids copy his dance, and in fact do it slightly worse/unrefined, to represent how black youth mimic Hollywood niggers who imply success is only shown through wealth and material possessions.
