I'd like to guess that the numbers can be simply explained through three different answers. Answer 1 is that this generation currently is raised by the media to question everything that was once the norm, and religion was one of those norms. Answer 2 is that children naturally go two ways when they eventually grow up, they either follow suite with their parents' beliefs and practices are they go against them completely and that in itself is dependent of how that child was raised. Answer 3 is edgy kids who never grew up to realized that religion always going to be a thing and there is no point to being an edgy asshole if you don't typically believe in theism and go out of your way to pretend to be a pseudo intellectual because you aren't prone to believing in the words of somethjng you can not see. There is also a fourth reason, because it's a meme to pretend to be a cringy fuck like the common hard practicing anti-theist.
