If you have a sensitive enough mechanism and a bright enough light source, you can collect the rare photon that makes its way through and back, and observe what lies on the other side. The only difference between glass and steel is brightness and sensitivity.
Clothes are thankfully much more transparent than a foot of steel is. Some of them are thin enough and sheer enough that even the meager color space of 256-valued RBG image files contains enough of a glimpse to reconstruct what lies beneath.
