bought a vape,
used low-nicotine liquid (like 0.6).
did this for approx. 6 months,
then i got so sick of the routine of charging, cleaning, replacing stuff, so i went back to cigs.
the act of vaping was so annoying that i kinda lost the habit of reaching for cigs,
but i still enjoy a cigarette after a meal or with some drinks etc.
TL;DR: went from 30 to around 5 fags per day,
steady for 2 years now,
through vaping,
i can live with that,
my doc says i can, too,
and i still can enjoy the taste of the real deal.
still TL;DR:
dont quit, reduce drastically,
because smoking is fun and tasty and shouldn't be missed.

I quit smoking. Didn't quit nicotine.
Wait as long as possible before your first cig of the day, then wait at least that amount of time between all your other cigs that day. It sucks, but waiting longer between smokes gradually reduces cravings. Then when you're down to only a few a day, replace some of them with nicotine replacements (I use the mints. super discreet and make your breath smell great).
I'm down to 1-3 nicotine mints a day. Occasionally I smoke joints (Europe so rolled with tobacco) as a replacement for the mints, but I never smoke cigs anymore.

A pack a day isnt a small amount, for me at least. Usually its half a pack. I still do it every day though, so not sure what you mean by not addicted.
