Some of Trump's supporters are legitimately stupid. One fellow said that Trump promised that the factory he worked at wasn't going to close, even though it was in fact closing and there was nothing Trump could have done. In Trump's defense, it's rhetoric, the things he said, and for the most part, the people who voted for him understood that.
But some of his more vocal and adamant voters don't understand the idea of saying things that you don't actually mean. I kind of feel bad for them, they're going to be so disappointed.
