They were designed that way but I was taking enough damage to kill me before putting the helm on, and afterward it was like I could walk anywhere and do anything, literally no damage from even large hordes of enemies. I was doing the same as a demon hunter, though nothing got close enough to me to hit anyway. I didn't notice my health going up when I hit stuff without gear that had health on hit.

I'd imagine it's not as good as it sounds. There's probably a lot of playing horrifically broken games, playing the same part over and over again, and you'd end up being sick of videogames by the time you got home.

That being said I'd still do it in a heartbeat, as it has to be better than most jobs.
>>
>>709613470
im neutral about it, most people say it's just a few mods that have been preinstalled, thats true for the most part but the engine also got updated so I could let some bugs pass, but come on, flickering water because my monitor's refresh rate is 144? thats bullshit for a remaster for a game from 5 years ago, but the water looks so good when it's not looking like its having a seizure.

I would disagree. We were painting, sculpting, and making music long before any sort of science or mathematics were developed. In fact, poetry and philosophy were developed before maths and sciences. I see it more as it was because of them that we were able to start really thinking in a very complex manner, which then allowed us to develop maths and sciences. The first mathematicians were Greeks/Egyptians, but they're relatively recent in terms of human history.

Maybe not, but the sculpting, the painting, the music, caused our brains to develop in such a way that we were able to begin to come up with more and more complex thoughts, to the point where we were able to come up with the systems of mathematics and all philosophy and science and technology. It's that artsy stuff that gave rise to the modern human brain because it forced us to begin to think in complex and abstract ways. That isn't to say that science and mathematics aren't vital or even important, rather, that I don't concern myself with them, they're not really important to me.

>>709614562
And I'm biased towards the arts, though I will not call a scientist an idiot.

and at this point in time, math and science are now more complex than the art itself, at least from a calculating standpoint, maybe not from a abstract standpoint.

So what is Zizek really about? I'm only familiar with Chomsky, Bakunin, and Kropotkin.
>>
I mean, I recognize that one of the greatest advancements in the field of art came about very specifically because of an advancement in technology. The development of the aluminum paint tube allowed paint manufacturers to premix paint and store it for incredibly long periods of time, which meant that painters no longer had to mix their own paint and were able to have their paint stay usable for longer than a day or two, which meant they were able to then start painting outdoors, which gave rise to the Impressionists, since they were no longer contained to the studio. The Impressionists gave rise to the Post-Impressionists, which include the first two truly Modernist painters, Van Gogh and Cezanne, and because of them Modernism started, then Postmodernism, and now we're here.

>>709615057
Art has always always been complex. From visually complicated anatomically correct compositions of lions to a visual depiction of a stampede painted on a rock wall that, when light is shifted over it gives the illusion that the paintings are moving. Mathematics and sciences are very straightforward, art has never been straightforward. Art has always been a "you either get it or you don't" sort of deal.
>>
>>709614926
The more I delve into theoretical physics the more I see a certain artistry to it. The was actually an amazing ted talks where the guy plotted out all the different quantum munger a of particles in n dimensional space and then looking at different rotations of the object projected onto a 2d plane basically lined up exactly with the current standard model and filled in quite a lot of blanks. It wasn't quite as artistic as a Rembrandt, but it was still quite beautiful in my mind

Art is an abstract idea, but that's where it ends with its complexity. People often say they have no words to describe art, but can people really describe an equation? No it just is what it is.
