Tired, but not too bad. Yesterday was busy as fuck though. Clean out some of all the shit in the garage and got out my grandpa's old 2x15" cabinet and his amp heads. On was a 600W bass amp, but not sure about the other one. I tried out the old one and it started smoking and blew out which was fun. Also got some Halloween shit yesterday and decorated my room a bit. Got some makeup as well to put on some corpse paint for Halloween, but I'm probably going to try it out tonight.

He actually built the cab out of some old thing, and put the speakers in himself, but I have no idea what they are. The 600W is a Peavey Mark VIII Bass. It's fucking amazing, and sounds incredible when I hooked up my guitar to it. It's going to sound godlike when I get these two for Christmas.

If I had a recommendation for a pedal, I've used a dan-electro cool cat metal I for about ten years and it's good, but do what you want.
I'd be careful playing guitar through a bass amp but it sounds pretty fucking sweet.
Don't know much about pickups, let alone active ones but I know I like Dimarizio Super Distortions. I'm probably going to get one for the bridge pick up in mine at some point.

I have a Dean Flying V, the Michael Schenker USA standard I think. I got it stupid cheap when I was younger because it has some cracks on the body where it connects to the neck. They're pretty standard pickups and they're a standard for basic distortion, I know the guys in Iron Maiden used to use them, so did Judas Priest and probably the early days of Metallica.

A few reasons. The staff while helpful, are paid on commission so they can be pushy about getting you to buy something or copping an attitude if you take your time to buy something, if you do. If I go to one, I usually end up getting something small, a set of picks, some strings, something like that. They're also pretty expensive.
They also tend to drive smaller music stores out of business and those are the ones that can hook you up with deals, news and make relationships with.
What is nice about them is that they usually have a good selection of instruments and some of the cooler promotional or limited run models, with a premium of course

Yep. As a matter of fact, there's one small place that has been around since the 70's that my grandpa went to, and I checked them out last week. He died 12 years ago, but amazingly, the guy working there recognized the name when my grandmother told him. He said he may be able to get me something for a wholesale price, I guess because I'm a third generation musician who's family has been going there since the store opened. So that's sick.

It's a nice guitar, not the easiest to play sitting down and it gets heavy after a while.
If I could do it over again, I would have preferred an HSH stratocaster (the promotional Dave Murray one), a Dean ML or a Gibson Explorer, just because they're easier to play sitting and in the case of the strat, it weighs a lot less

I was actually looking up the opposite a while ago. Try using some fine grit sandpaper to take the lacquer off.
