What are some god-tier albums? My usual artists have all gone dead it seems. No pretentious wank that only you have heard of and no top 40 garbage
> No pretentious wank that only you have heard of and no top 40 garbage
I have a feeling you're around 16-18, yeah?
The exposure or success of a group doesn't mean they're good or bad. To add to that, someone isn't bad or pretentious just because you haven't heard of them.
You're essentially acting like a typical teenage Starbucks whore.
All the fat smelly nerds in my community college always playing it on their laptops while they play yugioh and league of legends. and shit now aww i cant stand it. They ruined it.
I didn't like them at first but now I have nostalgia for it somehow.
Im trying to filter out Katy Perry and shit that is so obscure that I'll have little chance of liking it
I have a special place in my heart for Demon Days so it has aged well for me
Yea and i actually do like alot of stuff in the 'mainstream' these days but I've already heard it all and I'm looking for stuff that is good as a part of a single album, not just one track
Earth - The bees made honey in the lions skull
Moderat - III
Shlohmo - Dark Red
Michaël Bijker - Be Here Now
Squarepusher - Ufabulum
Squarepusher - Damogen Furies
Emancipator - Live in Athens
Kettel - Myam James Part 1 & Part 2
Max Cooper - Human
Saltillo - Ganglion
Saltillo - Monocyte
All are very different from each others
Here comes a new challenger
Maybe not god tier but hard as fuck to found
Kvelertak, this is the cover for their album Meir but all their stuff is good shit
this thread is quite disappointing.
lets try and change that
I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but how does one appreciate hip-hop and rap? I feel like because I've never cared for or paid attention to lyrics in any form of music, I'll never be able to listen to things like this more than a song or two at a time.
for me its a nostolgia thing.
im a /metal/ bro but rap still has a place in my record collection. pretty much anything pre-1996 is worth checking out plus a few post 96 albums here and there.
its like, nwa>missy elliot
like a lot of genres in music, hiphop/rap music does have a lot of garbage within it. And, again, like any other genre, there are also a lot of gems with lyrical and instrumental genius within them. Try going through an essential album collection, like TPAB or MBDTF and pay attention closely to the lyrics and instrumental maximalism involved. It might take awhile to truly appreciate what it actually is, but its so worth it to open your horizons to new types of music
this is a soundtrack, but deserves a spot
Nothing like some good metal for your face.
Well yeah that's kind of the point mate, you're supposed to improve. Every kendrick album has something special about it though, TPAB just happens to be made by someone skilled and now very experienced.
Obligatory Animals is better shitpost
I don't even understand his point. Greasy autistic faggots have been listening to Gorillaz since they started making music, its just one of those sound signatures that attracts those types of people.
Ghost - Meliora
Its rather tranquil in style but really goes into your ear imo.
Nice, but not my favorite.
Always liked these two though...
Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children.
I'm a lyrics guy and I prefer metal. Hip-hop and rap topics usually dont concern me at all... like I'd rather listen to some songs about Dragons or Riding to War than to a 30 year old singing about his fucked up life in the ghetto, his girls cheating on him or how promiscuous these girls are...not like I'm going to ride a dragon or a warhorse anytime soon, but I never lived in a ghetto and I dont date bitches either, nor do I take any drugs other than alcohol..
I guess its just general taste.
yall need to check this out, 2016AOTY
Album pic, also
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Nonagon Infinity
Predicting 'Trophy Eyes - Chemical Miracle' to be huge which drops friday
honestly i think Two Door Cinema Club's new music is shit, but this album holds a special place in my heart
Tourist History (2010)
>My Chemical Romance
Now that's edgy
And I bet that you either listen to neo-Czech violin rap group or to Nikki Minaj
And either way you can't seem to swallow your own shame at being so bland and/or pretentious...
For You - Prince
Diamonds and Pearls - Prince & NPG
The Firstborn Is Dead - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Junkyard - The Birthday Party
Dawnrazor - Fields Of The Nephilim
Rid Of Me - PJ Harvey
Raise! - Earth Wind & Fire
I have what is colloquially known as "shit taste" tho fam so take this with a grain of salt and whatnot.
Get over the 80s you sad old cunt , GnR is such bullshit that most people younger than 30 would rather be raped with a spade than have to listen to old people gag up stories about when splash and axehole ruled the world
Be'lakor - of breath and bone
