My adviser, colleagues and I are interested in whether or not someone is aware of their sexually deviant thought before it happens. For example: "Are you sexually attracted to children?" "No." Okay. *shows picture of a sexually pervasive child* *track mental processes via EEG, tracks physiological reaction via phallic-arousal sensor (strap we put around your dick). We try to find whether these these attractions are genuine illusions (more basic brain activity) or socially suppressed (more intense brain activity) and whether we can suppress our physiological reaction (can we think something sexually pervasive is attractive but stop ourselves from become physiologically aroused)
Study has been going on since around the beginning of september, and we're going for a general sample (all walks of life) above 18 years. Hopefully we can get 500-1000 subjects before we end in December. It's not my thesis, but it is for research credit.

how would one know where a sexual fantasy in someone before puberty (thus before sexual hormones are created and the person actively searches for their kinks/finds things that become their kinks) came into existence when there wouldn't be a response to such things without the sexual hormones. Take brain scans of lots and lots and lots of kids, take brain scans of them when they are adults, compare all of the ones that are now pedophiles, see if there was any significant development of the area since they were kids (did they develop pedophilia), compare changes to normal kids (can the changes be attributed to the development of pedophilia or are the changes in everyone?) what you have left is the significant data.
