Basically, to break it down, my reasoning is based off the Kinsey scale, as shown.
The spectrum of 0-6 can be used in place of age (pedophilia, hebephilia), animals and humans (zoophilia/zoosexuality/bestiality), and even to some degree, consciousness (necrophilia, though I've looked into that far less than others). This would encompass all of the listed things as well as attraction towards the mentally disabled. I find that the level of consciousness is really what this is all about because it is not uncommon that a zoophilia, pedophilia, or necrophilia overlap.
The reason people are zoophiles and pedophiles is, at its core, innate love and innocence towards the person in question. They are less likely to reject you/physically incapable of rejecting you.
That is how I see all of this. Of course, I'm no expert, so take my words with a grain of salt.
